The Tampa Bay Meal Partnership: Empowering Minority-Owned Vendors & Feeding Our Community

At The Mackhouse Boarding Center, we believe that community health and economic prosperity go hand in hand. As we step into the spring of 2026, our mission is expanding. We aren't just providing services; we are building an ecosystem of support that spans the entire 7-county Tampa Bay area. We call this spirit Imgosi Yamgosi: the "King of Kings." It represents our commitment to treating every community member with the highest level of royalty, honor, and dignity.

Today, I am thrilled to announce a major expansion of our feeding programs. We are looking for partners: specifically minority-owned restaurants and food truck operators: to join us in a mission that feeds the soul of Tampa Bay while providing stable, high-volume revenue for local businesses.

The Vision: A Seven-County Impact

The Mackhouse Boarding Center, as our parent non-profit entity, has always been about more than just a roof over someone's head. Through our sponsored programs like Savannah Community Living and the logistics power of Mack Transportation and Fleet Service LLC, we have seen firsthand the gaps in our local food systems.

We are expanding our feeding programs to reach shelters, schools, and senior living facilities across Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Manatee, and Sarasota counties. Our goal is simple: ensure that no child goes to school hungry, no senior is forgotten in their home, and no person in a shelter feels like they’ve been left behind.

But we can’t do this alone. To achieve the level of quality and care that Imgosi Yamgosi demands, we need the culinary expertise of our local minority-owned food vendors.

Why Minority-Owned Businesses?

Economic inclusivity isn't just a buzzword for us; it’s a strategy for community resilience. Minority-owned businesses are the backbone of the Tampa Bay economy, yet they often face hurdles when trying to secure large-scale government or corporate contracts.

By prioritizing minority-owned vendors for our feeding programs, we are ensuring that the funds we invest in our community stay in our community. When you partner with The Mackhouse Boarding Center, you aren't just a "vendor": you are a stakeholder in the local economy. We provide the platform, the logistics through our fleet services, and the contracts; you provide the flavor, the heart, and the nutrition.

The Partnership Proposal: A Formal Invitation to Our Vendors

We are officially opening applications for our Preferred Food Vendor Network. This is a formal proposal for local food entrepreneurs who are ready to scale their operations.

1. The Opportunity

As a preferred vendor, you will be eligible for large-scale feeding contracts managed by The Mackhouse Boarding Center. These are not one-off gigs. We are looking for partners who want guaranteed, high-volume contracts that provide a stable, predictable revenue stream for their business.

2. Requirements & Standards

To maintain the "Imgosi Yamgosi" standard of excellence, all meals must meet the following criteria:

  • Pre-packaged & Portable: Meals must be individually packaged in eco-friendly, heat-retaining containers.

  • The "Full Plate" Guarantee: Each meal must include a substantial main dish (protein-focused), a fresh salad, a fruit cup, and a drink.

  • Quality over Cost: While we must remain budget-friendly to maximize the number of people we feed, we never sacrifice quality. Ingredients must be fresh, and meals must be prepared with the same care you would give a patron in your own dining room.

  • Compliance: Vendors must be fully licensed and insured within their respective counties.

3. Benefits for Vendors

  • Reliable Income: No more worrying about slow Tuesdays or rainy days. Our contracts provide consistent volume.

  • Logistical Support: Through Mack Transportation and Fleet Service LLC, we handle the heavy lifting of distribution.

  • Marketing Exposure: Your business will be highlighted as a community partner in our outreach materials and digital platforms.

4. Ways to Pay + Partner Incentives (Refined)

We built “Ways to Pay” to make it easy for minority-owned vendors and Tampa Bay resorts/hospitality partners to say yes, scale fast, and keep more money in the community.

  • 10% Food Kickback (Owner benefit): Earn a 10% kickback tied to food volume delivered through the partnership—designed to reward consistency and growth.

  • 5% Employee Tax Prep Kickback (Employee benefit): When your employees use our tax prep services, your business receives a 5% kickback—helping you support your team while earning back value.

  • Free Vacations for all: Partner milestones unlock vacation rewards we coordinate through our in-house travel planning (hotels, resorts, cruises, and event packages), so everyone wins.

  • 401k Rollover into the high-gain fund: We can help eligible partners explore rolling a 401k into a high-gain fund option as part of a longer-term wealth strategy (where applicable).

  • Tax Return payment options: Flexible ways to pay for eligible services using your tax return—so cash flow doesn’t stop progress.

Target Clients: Beyond Shelters and Schools

While our heart is in the non-profit sector, this partnership also extends to our corporate and hospitality clients. We are actively pitching this meal delivery system to:

  • Beach Resorts & Luxury Hotels: Providing high-quality, pre-packaged staff meals for properties like the Marriott and Hilton chains. These resorts often need reliable, delicious options for their "heart of the house" employees who keep the tourism industry running.

  • Charter Schools: Many schools lack full-service kitchens. We provide a nutritious, "grab-and-go" solution that meets all dietary requirements.

  • Corporate Staffing: For businesses looking to provide employee perks while supporting local minority entrepreneurs.

By bridging the gap between local food trucks and massive hotel chains, we are creating a bridge of opportunity that didn't exist before.

The '2-Week Meal Pilot Program'

We know that jumping into a large-scale contract can be intimidating for both the vendor and the client. That’s why we’ve developed the 2-Week Meal Pilot Program.

This is a low-risk, high-reward trial period. For 14 days, a vendor provides a set number of meals to one of our designated sites (a school, a shelter, or a hotel staff room). During this time:

  1. Logistics are tested: We ensure the pickup and delivery times are seamless using our airport and local transportation services.

  2. Quality is Verified: We collect feedback from the meal recipients to ensure the food hits the mark.

  3. Financial Alignment: We ensure the pricing structure works for the vendor’s bottom line and our program budget.

If the pilot is successful, the vendor moves into our "Preferred Partner" tier, opening the door to long-term, high-volume contracts.

Supporting Your Business Growth

At The Mackhouse Boarding Center, we understand that growing a business takes more than just a contract. It takes financial literacy and proper planning. This is where our roots in financial services come into play.

We encourage our food vendors to utilize our Accounting and Tax Preparation services. Scaling from 50 meals a day to 500 meals a day changes your tax bracket and your bookkeeping needs. We are here to ensure that as your revenue grows, your financial foundation stays rock solid.

Whether you need a payment request page set up for your own clients or you need help navigating the tax implications of a new fleet of delivery vehicles, our team is ready to assist.

Imgosi Yamgosi: The Spirit of Excellence

When we use the term Imgosi Yamgosi, we are reminding ourselves that we are serving the "king of kings." In our view, the homeless veteran at a shelter, the single mother at a senior living facility, and the hard-working housekeeper at a Marriott are all royalty. They deserve meals that are prepared with honor.

This partnership is about more than food; it's about respect. We want our vendors to take pride in the fact that their logo is on a box that is bringing joy and health to someone's day.
